Experience

Melissa honed her attention to detail and case management skills as a library professional for more than 20 years, working in one of the largest urban public library systems in the country. At KSB Law, she applies her wealth of knowledge towards management of the Firm’s case library and archival system.

As a library professional, Melissa has managed active and closed case data, consulted on archival and information management systems, coordinated library resources, and assisted with operations support. Melissa has also planned and hosted book discussions, provided basic technology instruction to library patrons, answered questions at the reference desk, created library displays, and helped to maintain the branch’s collection of 400,000 items. Throughout her career, Melissa has earned kudos for excellent customer service, has been recognized by her peers as a team player, and has successfully completed internal leadership development programs that have contributed to her advancement.

As a supervisor, Melissa has experience leading large and small teams to coordinate vast amounts of documentation. In her supervisory role within the public library system, Melissa has participated on system-wide committees; developed and documented workflows; and assisted with onboarding new staff members. She has been responsible for coaching employees on best practices, communicating policies and procedures, supporting employee training and information needs, providing performance reviews, and acting as the liaison for the branch’s social work intern.
